MINUTES OF THE PUBLIC HEARING
OF THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, FLORIDA
November 11, 19$0
7:00 P.M.
Mayor Mapes read the Leal Notice, Notice of Public Hearin ,
of the applications of Tequesta Country C u an first Baptist
Church of Jupiter-Tequesta, both of whom are asking for an
expansion, enlargement or modification of an existing Special
Exception Use in the R-1A Single Family Dwelling District.
Mr. Joseph D. Yoder, Chairman of the Green Committee of
Tequesta Country Club was present and read a letter dated
October 17, 19$0 from the Country Club to the Village Manager.
The letter requested a public hearing for the Special Exception
Use. The Country Club intends to modify their existing golf
course equipment maintenance facility by the construction of a
2,400 square foot building. The purpose of the structure is to
provide office space, facilities for their employees, mechanical
work space and storage for all of their equipment.
Mr. Joe Hall, 159 Country Club Drive and Mr. Rick Berube,
4 Country Club Drive, asked question of the Country Club and
received answers to their satifact.on.
Mayor Mapes read a memorandum from the Village Manager
advising Council the Administrative Office received a call from
Dottie Campbell and Mrs. Dowrick both notifing the Administrative
Office that there were no objections to the request.
NIr. Herbert Beck, Architect for First Baptist Church, was
present and explained to Council that First Baptist Church of
Jupiter-Tequesta made application for the Special Exception to
provide for the construction of a sanctuary and classroom building
consisting of approximately 17,000 square feet of building.
The Village Manager told Council that the Community Appearance
Board has reviewed both applications and has recommended they be
approved.
