• MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING
OF THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, FLORIDA
MARCH 10, 1980
A Special Meeting of the Village Council of the Village of
Tequesta was held at 7:00 P.M., Monday, March 10, 1980 in the Village
Hall, 357 Tequesta Drive, Tequesta, Florida. Councilmembers present
were: Brown, Cook, Mapes and Yoder. Ryan had advised the Village Manager
he could not attend the meeting. Also present were Robert Harp, Village
Manager, who acted as Clerk for the meeting due to the Village Clerk being
ill, John C. Randolph, Village Attorney and Joe B. Wise, William R.
Hough & Co.
Mayor Brown advised that notice of the meeting had been made
and that the press had been given written notice of the meeting.
The Mayor then read the notice of the Special Council Meeting
which indicated the items to be considered were:
1. A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF
TEQUESTA, FLORIDA, PROVIDING FOR THE ACQUISITION AND
CONSTRUCTION OF DRAINAGE AND STREET IMPROVEMENTS IN SAID
• VILLAGE; AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF NOT EXCEEDING $910,000
IMPROVEMENT REVENUE BONDS, SERIES 1979, TO PAY THE COSTS
THEREOF; PROVIDING FOR THE RIGHTS OF THE HOLDERS OF SUCH
BONDS; PROVIDING FOR THE PAYMENT THEREOF; MAKING CERTAIN
OTHER COVENANTS AND AGREEMENTS IN CONNECTION WITH THE
ISSUANCE OF SUCH BONDS; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE,
HERETOFORE ADOPTED.
2. To ratify previous Resolutions passed and adopted in regard
to the $910,000 Improvement Revenue Bonds, Series 1979.
The Village Attorney advised that Bond Counsel had contacted
him and advised him of the necessity for the passage of the Resolution.
The Village Attorney advised that a letter from Bond Counsel stated the
purpose of the Resolution was to make sure that the term bonds are covered
and provided for. Both the Village Attorney and Joe B. Wise thought the
other resolutions adopted in regard to the $910,000 Improvement Revenue
Bond Issue covered the matter.
The Village Attorney then read the following title of a Resolution:
"RESOLUTION AMENDING A RESOLUTION ENTITLED: "A RESOLUTION OF
THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, FLORIDA,
PROVIDING FOR THE ACQUISITION AND CONSTRUCTION OF DRAINAGE
AND STREET IMPROVEMENTS IN SAID VILLAGE; AUTHORIZING THE

SERIES 1979, TO PAY THE COSTS THEREOF; PROVIDING FOR THE

Mapes moved, seconded by Yoder that the Resolution be adopted. The vote
on the motion was:

Cook Against
and Resolution No. 8-79/80 was hereby passed and adopted, 3 to 1.
The Village Attorney then advised of the necessity to ratify
the previous resolutions passed and adopted in regard to the $910,000
Improvement Revenue Bond Issue. The Village Attorney then read the
following title of a Resolution:

THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, FLORIDA,

EFFECTIVE DATE," HERETOFORE ADOPTED."
The Village Attorney advised that the proper motion in regard to this
Resolution would be to ratify and rescind the previous resolution and
adoption of the Resolution as read. Mapes moved, seconded by Yoder that
the Village Council rescind Resolution No. 6-79/80 and that the Resolution
as read be passed and adopted. The vote on the motion was:

and Resolution No. 9-79/80 was hereby passed and adopted, 3 to 1.
The Village Attorney then read the following title of a Resolution:
"A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA,
FLORIDA, FIXING THE MATURITIES, INTEREST RATES, AMORTIZATION
INSTALLMENTS AND REDEMPTION PROVISIONS FOR THE IMPROVEMENT
REVENUE BONDS, SERIES 1979; AUTHORIZING USE OF AN OFFICIAL
STATEMENT FOR SAID BONDS; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE".

Mapes moved, seconded by Yoder, that the Village Council rescind
Resolution No. 7-79/80 and that the Resolution as read be passed and
adopted. The vote on the motion was:

Brown For
Cook Against
and Resolution No. 10-79/80 was hereby passed and adopted, 3 to 1.
The Special Council Meeting was adjourned at 7:17 P.M.
