MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF
THE VILLAGE OF TE(~UESTA, FLORIDA
October 29, 1976
A Special Council Meeting of the Village of Tequesta
was held on Friday, October 29, 1976 at 7:30 P.M. in the
Village Hall. Present were Baron, Brown, Campbell, Huggins
and Yoder. Also present was Robert Harp, Village Manager,..
Cyrese Colbert, Village Clerk and John C. Randolph, Village
Attorney. The Prayer and Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag
was given by Mayor Campbell.
The second reading of an "Ordinance of the Village of
Tequesta amending Section 2, Ordinance No. 134, as amended
amending Section 4, Ordinance No. 134, as amended, which
established a schedule of water rates for the operation of
the water distribution system of the Village and providing
for and establishing charges for fire protection, meter
installation, connection charges, reconnection", was read
by the Village Manager. Each Councilmember gave his view
on the Ordinance and the elimination of the surcharge for
areas outside of Tequesta's city limits. Baron was in
favor of the surcharge. Mr. Williams, Palm Beach County
Health Department, stood firm on the grounds that Tequesta's
Water System does not meet the State Health requirements.
Mr. Williams also told the Council that if the Village of
Tequesta does not do something to get mare water and improve
the system, the State will take legal action against
the Village of Tequesta. There was input from the audience
from several people. Brown moved, "that the second reading
(of this Ordinance) be approved". Vote on the motion was:
Baron -Against
Brown -For
Campbell -For
Huggins -For
Yoder -For
and therefore Ordinance No. 240 was passed and adopted
on second reading.
The meeting was aajourned_ at 9:34 P.M.
