HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes_Special Meeting_05/03/1977• MINUTES OF A EMERGENCY SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING OF THE COUNCIL, VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, FLORIDA May 3, 1977 meeting was called by Mayor Brown for the purpose of considering water use restrictions to reduce the water system pumping to 1,300,000 gallons per day except on two (2) days per week when lawn watering will be allowed. A Emergency Specia]. Council Meeting of the Village of Tequesta, Florida, was held on Tuesday, May 3, 1977 at 4:30 P.M. in the Village Hall. Present were Brown, Mapes, Ryan and Yoder. Huggins was out of town on business. Also present were~Robert Harp, Village Manager and Cyrese Colbert, Village Clerk. This Mr. William B. Sydow, Gee & Jenson, Engineers, Architects, Planners, Inc., explained to Council his letter dated May_2, 1977• Mr. Sydow explained that due to the lack of rainfall and the continually dropping of the groundwater table, it was his recommendation that the Water Department Superintendent be instructed to limit the use of water to an average of about 1,300,000 gallons per day. After some discussion Yoder moved, "that we notify the public as follows; the Council of the Village of Tequesta has established the following lawn watering schedule for all customers of the Village water system effective immediately and until further notice, outside watering permitted only on Tuesday and Friday. This restriction to be removed when the Village water engineer determines that there is adequate water in the aquifer at which time the Public will be so notified" Ryan seconded the motion and the motion was adopted by Council.
